"I had a very lovely stay at Guest House at 118. The property is very conveniently located, close to Nelson Mandela Square. However it’s on a quiet suburban road, so it felt really tranquil. The guest house is newly opened, and you can really tell that Keith and Deirdre are doing everything they can to make their guests feel at home. The room is comfortable and spacious, with a small kitchenette, and a work space. I especially liked having my own separate entrance and garden seating area, it was nice and private. Great efforts have been made to ensure that the property is Covid compliant. I really appreciated the antiseptic spray, and how breakfast was served in sealed containers. Wifi was really fast, and I was able to connect to Zoom calls with no tech problems what so ever. "

"My stay with Deirdre and Keith really exceeded my expectations. They are newly listed on AirBnb, so I based my assumptions purely on photographs. The space is beautiful. Keith is an Architect, and it really shows, they property is impeccably designed, and the garden is carefully landscaped. Location is perfect. Close to Sandton CBD, but the in a quiet suburban street. The room has its own entrance, and private outdoor seating area. There is a fully equipped kitchenette, with tea and coffee – as well as yummy biscuits. It was a cold day, but the room was well heated with a power shower. Keith and Deirdre were very kind and offered to pick up food and wine for us; but in the end we settled on a take away pizza. The wifi was really fast, and there is a smart TV with DSTV and Netflix. We had a great breakfast in the morning, before having to head off. Hope to stay for longer next time."

"Excellent location with very easy access to Sandton CBD. I was working in Sandton and could get an Uber within minutes. I stayed here as I wanted extra Covid-19 precautions which the hosts provided. The room was very well sanitised and had additional precautions. The hosts were very friendly and answered my questions on what they would recommend for supper. The room was very comfortable and well furnished. I especially enjoyed the garden and the sunlight (it also is what drew me to stay here), would love to come back in the spring. I would highly recommend for those looking for a quite and peaceful place to stay that is more interesting than a hotel!"

"I had the privilege of being the very first guest at the newly opened Guest House at 118. Deirdre and Keith run an architectural practice on the property; and their style and taste is immediately evident the moment you enter the property. The garden is also just spectacular! The room has a private entrance and private garden with seating area. We had asked our hosts to pre-arrange wine and food for us, as we were getting in late and had not had had a chance to eat. Despite it being mid-winter, the room was toasty warm, and the bed was very comfortable. Thanks so much, will definitely stay again next time we are in Joburg."

"We had to travel up to Joburg unexpectedly as my mother was ill. Keith and Deirdre were able to accommodate us at extremely short notice. They were very kind and hospitable, which was very much appreciated during such a difficult time. They are a new establishment, but fully Covid compliant which was great. Really enjoyed walking round the garden, and the power shower. Hope to return again, thanks for a lovely stay".

"Hope to be back soon. Had a fabulous stay, such a comfortable room; slept like a baby. Thanks to Deirdre and Keith for fetching me from the Gautrain station; and arranging dinner for me. Good luck with your new venture!"
